How sales tax works here
Saskatchewan charges two separate taxes: the 5% federal GST (CRA) and a 6% provincial PST. It's not an HST province, so the two aren't combined β PST has its own registration and its own list of taxable and exempt items, and it reaches a broader set of services than many people expect.
GST registration generally starts once taxable sales pass $30,000; PST follows Saskatchewan's own rules once you make taxable sales in the province.
