Small Business Accountant in Calgary

Most owners come to us knowing something needs sorting, not knowing what it is called. Tell us what is happening in the business and we will tell you what actually needs doing — and what does not.

  • One team for the books, the payroll, the GST and the corporate return
  • We say when something is not worth paying for yet
  • You talk to the person who does your work, not an account manager

Why owners move everything to one place

Nothing falls between people

When the books, the payroll and the return sit in one place, nobody is emailing you to re-explain the business.

Year-end stops being an event

If the books were kept properly all year, the corporate return is a formality instead of three weeks of archaeology.

You are not too small

One-person corporations are most of what we do. Being small is not a reason to be handled badly.

We tell you what to skip

Not every business needs payroll, GST registration or a corporation yet. Hearing that early saves real money.

Sound familiar?

  • You are the owner, the bookkeeper and the person chasing invoices
  • You know roughly what came in this year, not exactly
  • Something is due soon and you are not sure which something
  • Your last accountant was fine but you never actually spoke to them
  • You incorporated and then were not sure what changed
  • You have been meaning to sort this out for about eight months

I used this company's services. Olha calculated my taxes. I was very satisfied. Last year I started my own business and it was my first year filing a return as self-employed, so I had a lot of questions. But Olha explained everything to me and helped me figure out all the questions. I highly recommend

FAQ

With the free call, and that is not us being polite. Describe what is happening — a deadline, a letter, a pile of receipts, a first employee — and we will tell you which piece needs attention first and which can wait.

No. Plenty of clients start with the one thing that is on fire and add the rest later, if it makes sense. We would rather do one part well than take over a business we do not understand yet.

Owner-operated businesses are the core of our work. The question is not size — it is whether the time you spend on this is worth more somewhere else in your business.

Yes. The office is downtown if you want to sit across a table, and the same work runs online for clients across Canada.

Yes, and it is common. We ask for the prior year's returns and the current books, tell you honestly what shape they are in, and pick up from there.

We explain what the numbers mean and what the tax consequences of a decision are — hiring, incorporating, registering for GST. For formal financial or investment advice you want a licensed advisor, and we will say so rather than improvise.

Start with what is bothering you

You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis or a folder. Fifteen minutes on a call is usually enough to work out what needs doing and in what order.
