T1 Adjustment Form (T1-ADJ): Change a Filed Tax Return · T1-ADJ
The T1 Adjustment Request (form T1-ADJ) is how you ask the Canada Revenue Agency to change a personal income tax return you have already filed — to add a slip you missed, claim a credit you forgot, or correct an amount. The paper form is only one of three ways to do it — pick the route that fits you below.
T1161 List of Properties by an Emigrant of Canada · T1161
Form T1161 is the list of everything you owned on the day you stopped being a Canadian tax resident. You file it with your return for the year you left if the total fair market value of your property was more than $25,000 - and, unusually, you have to send it even if you do not owe tax and would not otherwise file a return.
T1135 Foreign Income Verification Statement · T1135
You file Form T1135 if, at any time in the year, you owned “specified foreign property” with a total cost of more than CAD $100,000. It reports the property — it doesn't tax it — and it's filed together with your income tax return.
T2125 Statement of Business or Professional Activities · T2125
Form T2125 is how a self-employed person — a sole proprietor, freelancer, contractor or professional — reports business or professional income and expenses. It isn't filed on its own: it's part of your personal T1 income tax return.
T2201 Disability Tax Credit Certificate · T2201
Form T2201 is how you apply for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC) — a credit for people with a severe and prolonged impairment, or their supporting family member. Once you're approved, the credit can often be claimed for the current year and back years too.
RC4288 Request for Taxpayer Relief · RC4288
Form RC4288 asks the CRA to cancel or waive penalties and interest under the taxpayer relief provisions. It doesn't reduce the tax you owe — it asks the CRA to forgive the penalties and interest that piled on top, when your circumstances justify it.
T2 Short Return · T2 Short
The T2 Short Return is a simpler, two-page version of the T2 Corporation Income Tax Return, for eligible small corporations. Most corporations still file the full T2 — the Short version is only for those that meet every condition below.
RC1: Request for a Business Number · RC1
A Business Number (BN) is the 9-digit number the CRA uses to identify your business, plus the program accounts attached to it (GST/HST, payroll, corporate income tax). Since November 2025 most registrations are done online — the paper RC1 is now a fallback for limited cases.
T1158: Registration of Family Support Payments · T1158
Form T1158 registers a court order or written agreement for support payments with the CRA. It matters mainly for spousal support: registering the order is generally what makes those payments deductible for the payer and taxable for the recipient.
T1 General: the Income Tax and Benefit Return · T1 General
The T1 General — officially the Income Tax and Benefit Return — is the personal income tax return Canadian residents file each year. It pulls together your income, deductions and credits for the year and works out what you owe or get back.
T2200 Declaration of Conditions of Employment · T2200
The T2200 is the form your employer signs to confirm that your job required you to pay for certain expenses yourself — a home office, supplies, or travel. With a signed T2200 you can claim those employment expenses on your return.
T5018 Statement of Contract Payments · T5018
If more than half of your business income comes from construction, the CRA expects you to report what you pay subcontractors for construction services. That reporting is the T5018 — a slip for each subcontractor plus a summary.
TX19: Asking for a Clearance Certificate · TX19
A clearance certificate is the CRA's confirmation that all taxes, CPP, EI, interest and penalties for a person, estate, trust or corporation have been paid or secured. The legal representative uses form TX19 to ask for it before distributing the property.
