Payroll Services for Small Business

Two employees or twenty — payroll has the same deadlines either way. We run it, remit it, and file the year-end slips, so a missed date never becomes your problem.

  • Your people paid the same amount, on the same day, every time
  • Remittances sent on schedule — not remembered on the weekend
  • T4s and ROEs handled without a February panic

Why owners stop doing payroll themselves

Late costs more than you think

CRA charges 3% at one day late and 10% past a week — on the whole remittance, not the shortfall.

It can become your personal debt

Deductions are held in trust. If a corporation does not remit them, its directors can be held personally liable.

Your employee finds the mistake

Nothing damages trust faster than a short paycheque. Getting it right the first time is the cheapest option available.

February stops being a scramble

T4s are due to your employees and CRA by the last day of February. We prepare them from records kept all year.

What we take off you

  • Setting up the payroll account, or taking over one that already exists
  • Every pay run: gross to net, CPP, EI and income tax worked out for you
  • Remittances prepared and sent on your schedule, not from memory
  • New hires, raises, bonuses, final pay — the changes that break spreadsheets
  • Records of Employment when someone leaves, prepared properly the first time
  • Year-end T4s for your employees and the T4 Summary for CRA

Already behind, or not sure you set it up right?

Missed remittances, deductions calculated wrong, an account opened years ago and never used properly. Tell us what actually happened — most of it is fixable.

We look before we quote

You get an honest read on where the account stands and what it takes to fix, before any work starts.

Corrections in the right order

Fixing payroll out of sequence creates new problems. We sort remittances, slips and amendments in an order that holds up.

Then it runs quietly

Once the account is clean, ongoing payroll keeps it that way. You stop thinking about remittance dates entirely.

Sound familiar?

  • You pay yourself and one other person, and it still eats a full evening
  • You are not completely sure the deductions have been right all year
  • Somebody is leaving and you do not know what an ROE involves
  • The remittance date sneaks up on you most months
  • Your first employee starts soon and you have never run payroll
  • You took over a business and inherited a payroll account you did not set up

FAQ

Often yes, because the deadlines are identical whether you have one employee or thirty. The work is smaller at your size, and so is the cost — but the penalty for a late remittance is the same percentage either way.

It depends on how many people you pay, how often, and whether we are also cleaning up an existing account. You get the number after a short look at your setup, before any work begins.

Tell us the real history rather than the tidy version. We look at the account, tell you where it stands, and work out the order to fix it in — outcomes with CRA are never guaranteed, but doing nothing is the one approach that reliably makes it worse.

Yes. Gross to net, the employer's share, and the remittance total — worked out for each pay run so you are not checking tables yourself.

We prepare the Record of Employment and the final pay together, so the numbers on the ROE match what actually went out. That is the part people usually get wrong under time pressure.

Yes, and that is usually the reason people move it to us. Payroll, bookkeeping and the corporate return in one place means no one is re-explaining the business three times.

Yes. The office is in downtown Calgary if you want to sit down with someone, but payroll runs online for clients across Canada.

Let's look at your payroll setup

Whether you are starting with your first hire or untangling something that has drifted, fifteen minutes is usually enough to tell you where you stand.
