Canada Tax Deadlines

The dates that matter for the 2025 tax year, filed in 2026. Filing on time — even if you can't pay in full — usually keeps the late-filing penalty away.

Dates below are for the 2025 tax year (filed in 2026). When a deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, the CRA generally accepts a return as on time if it's received the next business day.

Individuals (T1)

Instalments, if you pay them, are due March 15, June 15, September 15 and December 15.

Self-employed (T1)

You get extra time to file, but any tax owing is still due April 30 — interest starts after that.

Corporations (T2)

Many Canadian-controlled private corporations that qualify for the small business deduction get 3 months to pay instead of 2.

GST/HST
