FAQ
Start with every source you can still access: exchange exports, wallet addresses, bank and credit-card records, emails, and prior tax files. Missing data does not become reliable because software fills a gap automatically. We can identify what is missing and what may need to be reconstructed before the return is prepared.
Not always. The report is only as reliable as the wallet links, exchange imports, token classifications, and missing-cost information behind it. Review large gains, unmatched transfers, duplicate transactions, staking, DeFi, and unsupported assets before using the totals.
The CRA says a transfer between wallets you own is generally not a disposition, although records are still needed to trace the asset and its cost. A transfer to someone else or an exchange for another asset can have a different result. See the CRA’s current crypto transaction guidance.
That classification depends on the facts and the pattern of activity; no single factor decides it. Frequency, knowledge, time spent, financing, and the way the activity is organized may all be relevant. The CRA outlines these factors in its crypto income guidance.
