How income tax works here

BC has seven tax brackets and raised its lowest rate to 5.6% for 2026. On top of income tax, BC charges a provincial sales tax (PST) separately from the federal GST — that's a sales tax, not part of what this calculator estimates.

This tool combines federal and BC income tax and applies the basic personal amount. For standard T4 employment, it also estimates the employee share of CPP/CPP2 and EI. Other income, deductions and personal credits aren't included.
